Wooden hot tubs are getting quite popular in Portland. One of our friends has one. It’s a huge draw when they entertain people. I do not want to be out done?
Of course this is Portland so the “all-natural” look is quite trendy. I mean cmon those acrylic tubs belong in the OC (along with their plastic-surgery-altered owners.
I’ve been doing research on tubs made of wood and there are a couple other advantages. As you can see they are quite deeper than typical hot tubs. This means more soothing hot water and more leg room (both of which is good for Sara, since she works long days and is quite tall.)
With pools though it all comes down to maintenance. But our friends say it is quite easy as long as you stay on top of things. I’m very good at keeping track of tasks so this definitely won’t be a problem.
How much is this going to set us back? Well we’re not very handy so we’re going to have to hire a professional to install it. Wooden hot tubs you have to assemble yourself (which is sometimes a benefit as you can fit it through your house.) So we’re probably looking at a couple Gs. I’ll keep this blog updated.
